For example:
- Education: of 100 adults surveyed, 38% had not finished high school leaving this part of the population economically vulnerable
- Economy: Although unemployment rate is only 2.7%, the quality of jobs is poor and salaries are low; 15% earns less than the minimum monthly salary
- Well-Being: The majority of the reported illnesses consist of respiratory, diarrhea, urinary, hypertension, and diabetes; These are all preventive diseases.
- Environment: There is a big concern over river pollution, deforestation, and garbage in Ixtepec.
- Community & Leisure: The lack of employment opportunities in Ixtepec is causing migration threatening their rich heritage and culture.
